Agios Georgios Beach is one of the most picturesque and sheltered destinations on the southern coast of Rethymno.

Geographically, it is located west of Agia Galini, nestled within a protected bay that makes it an ideal refuge when strong winds blow in the area.

The landscape at Agios Georgios is idyllic, featuring crystal-clear turquoise waters and a shore consisting mainly of fine pebbles and sand. The beach is surrounded by rugged rocks, and the calmness of the sea makes it an excellent choice for families and snorkeling enthusiasts.

Access to the beach is relatively easy via a paved road that starts from Agia Galini and winds through the hills, offering magnificent views of the Libyan Sea. Alternatively, many visitors choose to arrive by boat, with regular trips departing from the harbor of Agia Galini.

Regarding organization, Agios Georgios is partially organized, providing necessary amenities without losing its traditional character. A few tavernas operate in the area, where visitors can enjoy Cretan cuisine by the sea, and umbrellas and sunbeds are available on a section of the shore.
