Abas gorge

The gorge of Ambas, which is located nearly 50km south of Heraklion, in Asterousia Mountains, is known for the large amount of wild birds that live in it and also for the breathtaking waterfall of 140 meters height.

Santorinios gorge

Just 25 kilometers west of Heraklion there is the Santorinios gorge. Its a small gorge which has not been exploited with fairly dense vegetation and several lakes that make its access very difficult.

Voulismeno Aloni

Voulismeno Aloni is a very weird geological phenomenon. It is a very large circular ground sinking (doline), with approximately 50 metres depth and 90 metres diameter, which has been shaped after a cave’s fall and now is ideal for climbing.
