Anissaras Beach is one of the most organized and extensive coastal destinations on the northern shores of the Heraklion prefecture.
Geographically, it is located east of Heraklion, forming the natural continuation of the Hersonissos coastal front.
The landscape is characterized by a long sandy coastline washed by the Cretan Sea. A unique feature of the area is the presence of small artificial coves and breakwaters that ensure calm waters, as well as the fact that the beach stretches in front of a zone with significant tourist development. To the east, the shore continues toward the Paralia Anissaras section.
Access to the beach is very easy through a dense road network serving the entire area. Streets such as Gortynis and Epidavrou lead directly to the coast, connecting the beach with inland settlements and facilities.
Due to its location, the area offers full infrastructure for visitors. Numerous tourist rentals, large hotel complexes, and dining venues line the coastal front. Additionally, religious landmarks such as the church of Zoodochos Pigi, as well as sports facilities and marine equipment stores, are located in the vicinity.
