Ferma Beach (also known as Xerokamara) is located between Kaki Skala and Agia Fotia, serving as one of the most picturesque spots on the road from Ierapetra to Makry Gialos.
The beach is a stunning, enclosed bay with crystal-clear deep waters and fine pebbles, surrounded by steep cliffs and lush vegetation that provide a sense of seclusion and peace. Thanks to the surrounding hills, it is exceptionally well-protected from winds, making it ideal for swimming even when it is breezy elsewhere. The seabed is particularly interesting, with many rocks at the edges of the cove that are perfect for snorkeling and underwater exploration.
In terms of facilities, Ferma beach offers umbrellas and sunbeds, with tavernas (such as Tavern Katerina) and rental rooms located directly above, providing all essential amenities. Access is very easy via short roads from the main highway, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a mix of rugged Cretan landscape and tourist convenience.
