Filaki Beach is one of the best-known and most unique coastal destinations in southern Crete, in the wider Sfakia area.
Geographically, it is located east of Chora Sfakion and Ammoudi Beach, and west of Leska beach, serving as a landmark for fans of free and unpretentious swimming.
The landscape is characterized by the classic, rugged beauty of the Libyan Sea, with the shore featuring pristine, crystal-clear, and deep waters. The beach consists mainly of pebbles and is surrounded by rocky formations that create a sense of protection and seclusion. It is internationally known as one of the most official naturist destinations in Crete, with an atmosphere that is deeply relaxing and respectful of privacy and nature.
Access is relatively easy via the road network leading east from Chora Sfakion, with the beach located near well-known tourist resorts in the area, such as Vritomartis. Regarding organization, Filaki features some basic infrastructure, such as a small canteen and a few umbrellas, without losing its authentic and quiet character. It administratively belongs to the Chania Prefecture (Municipality of Sfakia) and remains one of the most iconic choices for those seeking absolute freedom in a landscape of rare beauty.
