Fylakas Beach is one of the most hidden and unexplored coastal treasures of the Asterousia Mountains in the Heraklion region.
Geographically, it is located immediately after the Tripiti area when heading east, followed by Katarti Beach. It is a small and isolated cove characterized by raw natural beauty, featuring crystal-clear deep waters and a rocky shoreline.
Access to the beach is extremely difficult, as there is no road network reaching the shore. The most recommended way to reach it is by sea using a boat from Lentas or Agios Ioannis. For experienced adventure seekers, land access requires hiking over very rugged and steep terrain.
Regarding facilities, Fylakas is a completely unorganized beach. It offers no amenities or natural shade, making it essential for visitors to be fully self-sufficient with their own water, food, and shade equipment. The beach provides a rare sense of absolute tranquility, while its rich seabed makes it ideal for snorkeling far from civilization.
