Giorgaki Beach is a small and stunning cove located in the Ferma area, approximately 10-12 kilometers east of Ierapetra.
It is one of the most unique spots in southeastern Crete, hidden beneath the main road and surrounded by steep cliffs and lush vegetation, offering a sense of privacy and tranquility.
The beach is characterized by fine sand and small pebbles, with crystal-clear, azure waters that are usually very calm, as the bay is well-sheltered from the winds. Due to the rocky seabed at its edges, Giorgaki Beach is an excellent spot for snorkeling, allowing visitors to explore the area's rich marine life. The high cliffs surrounding it provide natural shade in some spots during the day, enhancing the feeling of a natural sanctuary.
The beach is partially organized, featuring a limited number of umbrellas and sunbeds mostly managed by nearby accommodations, such as Harmony E Rock Hotel. Nevertheless, it retains its pristine character and feels nothing like large, noisy beaches. Access is via a small path or steps from the main road, making it a wonderful choice for those seeking a high-quality, quiet swim in a setting that looks like a movie scene.
