Glass Beach is one of the most secluded and unique coastal destinations on the eastern side of the Akrotiri peninsula.

Geographically, it is located in a remote area near the village of Rizoskloko, situated south of the famous Seitan Limani and east of the Chania International Airport.

The landscape is characterized by the wild, authentic beauty of the Cretan countryside, with steep rocks and low vegetation surrounding the shore. The beach got its name from the numerous smooth pieces of glass found mixed with the pebbles and sand, which have been polished by the salt and the action of the sea over the years. The waters are crystal clear and deep, offering a unique swimming experience away from civilization.

Access to Glass Beach is demanding, as it requires driving on dirt roads followed by hiking on rugged trails, making it a destination for the few and for adventure seekers. In terms of organization, the beach is completely pristine, with no infrastructure whatsoever, which is why visitors must be fully prepared for their needs.
