4 km west of Chora Sfakion and below big mountainous rocks of 500 m hight, is located one of the most beautiful beaches of Chania.

Glyka Nera is a popular beach, with light blue waters, surrounded by big rocks that impress the visitors.

The beach (Glyka Nera means sweet water), is named after the drinking water sources that pour it into the sea and that leads to the decreased temperature of the waters.

The access to Glyka Nera is through boat from Sfakia or Loutro, or through E4, the European path that starts from Chora Sfakion and lasts approximately 40 minutes.
