Kalamia Beach is one of the most peaceful and picturesque destinations in southern Crete, known for the sense of tranquility it offers its visitors.

Geographically, it is located on the shores of the Libyan Sea, west of Paleochora, between Limnaki beach and Psilos Volakas beach.

The landscape is characterized by a beautiful bay with pristine, crystal-clear waters and a shore consisting of pebbles and sand. The atmosphere at Kalamia remains exceptionally calm and authentic, maintaining a character that makes it ideal for those seeking relaxation and avoidance of crowds, in an environment that combines the wild Cretan landscape with the sea breeze.

Access is very easy by road, as the beach is located along the provincial road leading from Paleochora to the western coast. Regarding organization, Kalamia is a completely unorganized beach, without umbrellas or sunbeds, preserving its natural character intact, although basic dining infrastructure is available nearby. It administratively belongs to the Chania Prefecture and is an excellent choice for those seeking simplicity and quiet.
