Kokkina Gremna Beach is one of the most isolated and wild coastal destinations in western Crete, offering a landscape of unique natural beauty.
Geographically, it is located on the western coast of the Chania Prefecture, north of the Sfinari settlement and beach.
The landscape is characterized by the rugged charm of the steep cliffs surrounding the shore and the crystal-clear waters of the sea. The atmosphere at Kokkina Gremna remains exceptionally serene and pristine, as the beach is situated far from any tourist development, serving as an ideal refuge for those seeking absolute tranquility and contact with the wild Cretan terrain.
Access to the area is via the provincial road network that traverses the western side of the prefecture, with the route offering impressive views of the coastline. Regarding organization, the beach is completely unorganized, with no infrastructure, preserving its authentic character intact. In the wider area, on a hill overlooking the coast, stands the church of Prophet Elias, which serves as a prominent landmark for the location.
