Kokkini Chani beach is one of the most popular coastal destinations on the northern shores of the Heraklion prefecture.
Geographically, it is located east of Heraklion city, forming part of an extensive coastline served by the Northern Road Axis of Crete (E90).
The landscape is characterized by a series of sandy coves washed by the Cretan Sea. A unique feature of the area is the small breakwaters and artificial bays, such as the one formed at Acqua Blu Beach, which offer protection from northern winds and create calm waters for swimmers. To the east, the coastline continues toward Gournes beach.
Access to the beach is very easy, as the area's main road (El. Venizelou Ave.) passes directly above the shore. The local road network, including streets, connects the beach to the residential fabric and tourist infrastructure.
Due to significant tourist development, the area offers full infrastructure for visitors. Numerous tourist rentals, large hotel units, and dining options line the coastal front. The beach is organized, providing all necessary amenities for a comfortable stay by the sea.
