Koutalas beach is one of the most secluded and unique coastal destinations on the Apokoronas peninsula.

Geographically, it is located on the eastern side of Souda Bay, near the village of Kokkino Chorio, situated at the edge of Cape Drapano.

The landscape is characterized by a narrow, rocky cove with crystal-clear waters and coarse pebbles. The area is surrounded by imposing cliffs and caves, the most famous being the neighboring Koutalas Cave, which is primarily accessible by sea and attracts diving and exploration enthusiasts. Due to its geographical position, the cove offers protection from certain winds, keeping the sea relatively calm.

Access to the beach is via a narrow and winding road network starting from Kokkino Chorio, ending at a small plateau near the shore. The route offers excellent views of the Cretan Sea and the region's wild nature.

In terms of organization, Koutalas maintains a completely pristine and unpretentious character. It lacks umbrellas, sunbeds, or other tourist infrastructure, making it an ideal destination for those seeking absolute peace, isolation, and the opportunity to swim in an environment of unparalleled natural beauty.
