Krigioi Beach is one of the quietest and lesser-known coastal destinations on the southern shores of the Heraklion region.
Geographically, it is located between the settlements of Chrysostomos and Platia Peramata, forming part of the broader Asterousia Mountains coastline.
Specifically, the beach is situated east of Maha beach and Kokkines Plakes, while to its east, it borders Psili Ammos beach. It is a shore characterized by the raw beauty of southern Crete, featuring crystal-clear deep waters and a combination of sand and pebbles.
Access to Krigioi is relatively easy, as the beach is located near the road network connecting the inland villages (such as Agios Kirillos) with the coastal front. The route offers excellent views of the Libyan Sea and leads to an environment that remains authentic and far from mass tourism development.
Regarding organization, Krigioi is a completely unorganized beach. It lacks umbrellas, sunbeds, or other tourist infrastructures, making it ideal for those seeking absolute peace and contact with nature. Visitors should be fully supplied with water, food, and shade equipment, as natural protection from the sun is limited.
