A little further from the town of Tympaki, as we go south, is the village and the beach of Kokkinos Pirgos. The name of the area came from the tower that existed there and was built with red soil.
Close to the village of Vathia, 15 km from Heraklion is the beach of Vathianos Kampos. Area with adjacent small bays and shallow crystal clear waters.
The beautiful beach of Varkotopos is located at the village of Bali, 33 km east of Rethymno.
