Mavrocharakos Beach is one of the most intriguing spots along the southern coast of Crete, located approximately 2 kilometers west of Myrtos and just before the village of Tertsa.

It is an extensive stretch of coastline characterized by dark grey pebbles and fine sand, which, combined with the area's steep rocky formations, lend it an imposing and rugged appearance. On the western side of the beach, rocky caves provide natural shade during the morning hours, while the area is excellent for activities such as snorkeling due to its rich seabed. Visitors are advised to be fully equipped with water and supplies, although the proximity to Myrtos allows for easy restocking before or after a visit to the beach.
