Mavromouri Beach is located in northeastern Crete, in the wider area of Palekastro, within the Lasithi region. It forms part of a series of lesser-known coastal spots along the eastern shoreline, remaining outside the main tourist routes.

It is a quiet, non-organized beach that does not attract high visitor numbers, largely due to its relatively remote location. The shoreline is mainly covered with pebbles, while the waters are clear and quickly become deep, a common feature of beaches in this part of Crete.

The surrounding landscape is open and relatively dry, with sparse vegetation and rocky formations shaping the coastal environment. The beach is exposed to winds, which can influence sea conditions, particularly during the summer months.

There are no facilities or organized services in the area. Access is via a rural dirt road that leads close to the coast, helping preserve the natural character of the location.

Mavromouri is part of a wider network of secluded beaches in eastern Crete, known for their clear waters and minimal human intervention, offering a more natural coastal experience.
