Lagoufa Beach is one of the most popular and well-organized destinations in southeastern Crete, located at the eastern end of Makry Gialos bay.
It is the ideal choice for those seeking comfort, as it blends high-end tourist facilities with the natural beauty of the Libyan Sea.
The beach is essentially divided into two smaller coves. It features fine, golden sand and shallow, azure waters, making it a paradise for families with small children. The sea is usually very calm, as its geographical position offers protection from the region's strong winds.
Unlike the more secluded beaches we’ve discussed (such as Psalidi or Anaskelos), Lagoufa is fully organized. It is surrounded by large hotel complexes, such as Atlantica Mikri Poli Crete, and offers a plethora of amenities including umbrellas, sunbeds, water sports, and easy access to restaurants and cafes.
Access is extremely easy via the main road, and its proximity to Diaskari allows visitors to change scenery within minutes, moving from cosmopolitan organization to absolute tranquility.
