Pera Tsoutsouros Beach is the western extension of the seaside settlement of Tsoutsouros in the Heraklion region.
While the main beach of Tsoutsouros is often bustling with life, "Pera" (meaning "beyond") offers a more tranquil and laid-back atmosphere while remaining close to the village's amenities. It is an extensive sandy shore with crystal-clear waters, long renowned for their therapeutic properties due to the high concentration of iodine and salt.
Regarding organization, Pera Tsoutsouros is semi-organized. You will find umbrellas and sunbeds in specific areas, but there is plenty of free space for those who prefer more privacy. Access is very easy, either on foot from the village center or by car, and several tamarisk trees along the coast provide natural shade. The area is ideal for families as the waters are relatively shallow near the shore, and the seabed is great for snorkeling. The main advantage of this beach is the blend of relaxation and convenience, as all the famous tavernas and cafes of Tsoutsouros are just a short walk away, offering fresh fish and local delicacies.
