Platanes beach is one of the most vibrant and developed parts of Rethymno's waterfront, located on the eastern side of the city.

Geographically, it stretches along the vast sandy coast that begins in Rethymno and continues eastward, following the areas of Pervolia and Misiria.

The landscape features a wide and extensive sandy beach with clear waters, facing the open Cretan Sea.
