Podare Beach is one of the most inaccessible and pristine coastal enclaves of southern Crete, located in the Rethymno region.
Geographically, it is found in a secluded area between Agia Fotini and Gialopotamos, forming part of the wild coastline that extends below the village of Kerames. It is a location that remains almost unknown to the general public, maintaining a character of absolute isolation.
The landscape is characterized by the rugged beauty of the rocks and the presence of coarse sand and pebbles on the shore. The waters are exceptionally clear, deep, and possess the characteristic dark blue color of the Libyan Sea. The beach is surrounded by high slopes and geological formations that offer natural protection and a sense of awe to the visitor. Due to its position, the beach is exposed to southern winds, which often create strong wave action.
Access to the shore is particularly difficult, as there is no direct road connection. Reachable primarily via rugged paths or by sea, it serves as a sanctuary for those seeking total disconnection. Regarding organization, the beach is completely unorganized, with absolutely no human infrastructure or shade. it is a destination exclusively for adventure seekers and lovers of primitive nature, where tranquility and privacy are guaranteed.
