Tenta Beach is located in the northeastern part of Crete, in the Lasithi region, a short distance from the palm forest of Vai (approximately 7 km) and near the village of Palekastro.

It is one of the lesser-known yet striking coastal spots in the area, distinguished by its rugged natural setting and rich seabed.

The beach is predominantly rocky, with small sheltered coves and limited sandy sections between the rocks. The rocky formations continue beneath the surface, creating an interesting underwater landscape with diverse marine life, making it suitable for snorkeling and exploration.

The sea is deep and exceptionally clear, with intense blue hues. Weather conditions can significantly affect the experience, as the area is exposed to winds. On windier days, the beach may also attract visitors interested in water sports such as windsurfing.

The surrounding landscape is defined by steep rocky formations and a sense of isolation, offering a very different atmosphere compared to the more organized and popular beaches nearby, such as Vai. There are no facilities or organized services, which helps preserve its natural and untouched character.

Access is via a rural dirt road, and in some sections, extra care is required due to the terrain. Its position along a narrow coastal stretch between different sea exposures contributes to the uniqueness of the location.

Tenta Beach is not a conventional tourist destination, but rather a place for those seeking a more authentic and less developed coastal environment. The combination of rugged coastline, clear waters, and underwater richness makes it one of the most distinctive beaches in eastern Crete.
