Vatos Beach is one of the most secluded and tranquil destinations in Southern Crete, located west of Myrtos, nestled between the beaches of Mavrocharakos and Kalikovrechtis.

It is a small, pristine cove surrounded by tall cliffs, offering a setting of absolute silence for travelers looking to escape the tourist crowds. The shore is covered with fine pebbles and sand, while the waters of the Libyan Sea here are deep, crystal-clear, and often calm, as the local geomorphology provides protection from strong winds.

In terms of organization, Vatos is a completely unorganized beach, lacking any infrastructure, which makes it an ideal spot for free relaxation and a total disconnect from daily life. Access is provided via the coastal road connecting Myrtos to Tertsa, with short downhill paths leading from the road to the shore. A special feature of the beach is its natural caves and rocky indentations that offer valuable shade throughout the day, as well as its rich seabed, which is perfect for snorkeling. Visitors should come fully prepared with water, food, and necessary shade supplies, while the proximity to neighboring settlements allows for easy restocking before arriving at the bay.
