The beautiful seaside village of Lentas is located approximately 70 km from Heraklion at Gortyna district.

The village which has almost 110 residents is a tourist attraction with a small port and one of the most popular beaches in Heraklion.

Lentas took its name from the word levin (lion) which is referring, according to a greek myth,  to one of the lions that pulled goddess’s Rea carriage.  It is also inspired by the cape of Liontari (lion) which has the shape of a lion and is lying across Lentas.
