The Sfakia Fortress is located in Hora Sfakion, a coastal village on the south coast of Crete in the Sfakia region of Chania.
This small historic fort was built during the Venetian era (15th-16th century) on a hill above the village to defend against pirate raids and to secure control of the area.
Today, only the ruins remain, reflecting its former military role. The remaining stone structures on the hill provide visitors with a glimpse into the past and offer scenic views of the surrounding landscape and coastline.
