The Tombs of Venizelos on the hill of Prophet Elias are among the most significant historical landmarks in Chania.

This is the final resting place of the great Greek statesman Eleftherios Venizelos and his son, Sophocles. The site was chosen according to Venizelos' own wish to be buried near his home in Halepa. The monument is simple yet imposing, featuring the famous eulogy he delivered in Parliament in 1932. Aside from its historical weight, the location is world-renowned for offering the best panoramic view of Chania, the Venetian Harbor, and the Cretan Sea, especially during sunset. The site also features the statue of Spyros Kayales, a hero of the 1897 revolution, making the entire park a symbol of Cretan bravery and national history.
