A little further from the town of Tympaki, as we go south, is the village and the beach of Kokkinos Pirgos. The name of the area came from the tower that existed there and was built with red soil.
15 km west of Heraklion at Rogdia and very close to the Monastery of Panagia Rogdia, is located the church of Agios Georgios.
