Altsi Beach is a unique and lesser-known coastal destination on the northern shores of the Lasithi prefecture, near the settlement of Mochlos.

Geographically, it is located in an area with a significant industrial and geological history, as it directly adjoins the "Altsi" Gypsum Quarry of the LAVA company.

The landscape around the beach is rugged and imposing, characterized by the hues of the local rock formations and the wild beauty of the Cretan terrain. The shore is formed where the hillsides meet the sea, while the Agio Pnevma hill dominates the wider area. Due to its proximity to the quarry, the beach maintains a unique character that combines the natural environment with the marks of mining activity.

Access to Altsi Beach is via the regional road of Mochlos, which connects the area to the main road network of eastern Crete. Despite the presence of some tourist infrastructure, such as holiday homes in the broader zone, the beach itself remains a quiet destination, ideal for those wishing to explore a different and more raw side of the Cretan coastline.
