A fairly organized beach is Agia Galini beach, which is located at the estuary of Platis river. Since 1960 every year a lot of visitors spent their holidays here and of course is awarded with a Blue Flag.
The beach of Made is located 20 km northwest of Heraklion and only 1.5 km east of Lygaria beach.
The east beach of Fodele is located at the homonymous village 25 km northwest of Heraklion and at one km distance from the main beach of Fodele.
