Kalamokanias Beach (or Kalamokania) is the western entrance to Makry Gialos and one of the region's most distinct shores, offering a quieter alternative to the settlement's main beach.

Located right on the western side of the hill that separates the Harbor from the rest of the coastline, it offers a setting that blends rugged beauty with comfort.

The beach is characterized by coarse grey sand and small pebbles, while its crystal-clear waters deepen relatively faster compared to the shallow central sandy shore of Makry Gialos. The landscape is surrounded by tall tamarisk trees providing natural shade, and the presence of rocks at its edges makes it an excellent choice for snorkeling and underwater exploration.

Kalamokania is partially organized, featuring umbrellas and sunbeds in certain areas while maintaining a freer, more relaxed character. Directly above the shore, there are well-kept rental rooms, tavernas, and cafes, allowing visitors to enjoy their meals overlooking the Libyan Sea. Access is very easy, either on foot from Makry Gialos harbor (via a short uphill road) or by car, making it a great option for those wishing to avoid the crowds without moving too far from the settlement's amenities.
