Karoumes Beach is located in northeastern Crete, in the Lasithi region, east of Palekastro, within one of the most remote coastal areas of Sitia.

It is not directly accessible by road, which has helped preserve its natural and undeveloped character.

Access to the beach is on foot, via a trail that begins near the area of Chochlakies and leads through a narrow gorge before reaching the coast. The hike requires time and basic physical condition, but it is considered an integral part of the experience, offering a striking natural setting along the way.

The beach is mainly covered with pebbles, and the waters are clear and deep. The surrounding landscape is rugged and isolated, with steep slopes and sparse vegetation typical of eastern Crete. The absence of infrastructure and the limited accessibility have kept visitor numbers relatively low.

Karoumes is not a conventional tourist destination, but rather a location associated with exploration and outdoor activity. Its appeal lies not only in the beach itself, but also in the route that leads to it, making it one of the most distinctive coastal spots in the area.
