Koutelos Beach is one of the quietest and most authentic coastal destinations in southern Crete, located west of Frangokastello.

Geographically, it is situated between the settlement of Nomikiana and Leska beach, serving as one of the first spots encountered before reaching the historic fortress.

The landscape is characterized by the classic raw beauty of the Sfakian south, with the shore featuring large pebbles and pristine, deep waters that take on unique shades of blue. The beach is surrounded by low hills and scattered trees providing some natural shade, while the atmosphere remains exceptionally serene, offering a sense of freedom away from mass tourism. It is an ideal place for those who love simplicity and contact with the raw natural environment.

Access is very easy via the road network connecting Chora Sfakion with Frangokastello, as the beach is located very close to the main road. Despite the presence of some rental rooms and traditional tavernas in the wider area, the beach itself maintains an unorganized character, without umbrellas and sunbeds. It administratively belongs to the Chania Prefecture (Municipality of Sfakia) and is an excellent choice for a peaceful dip in the crystalline waters of the Libyan Sea.
