Paralia beach on the map, is one of the most isolated treasures of the Rodopou Peninsula.

Geographically, it is located on the northeastern side of the peninsula, in the Chania Prefecture, situated just south of the famous Menies beach.

The landscape is characterized by the wild, pristine beauty of the Cretan Sea, featuring deep crystal-clear waters and a shore consisting mainly of pebbles and stones. The area is rich in history, being very close to the archaeological site of Diktynna, where the ruins of the sanctuary of Artemis stand. The atmosphere is absolutely serene, offering a rare experience of isolation, as the surrounding area is uninhabited and framed by the rugged mountainous terrain of the peninsula.

Access by road is extremely difficult and requires a four-wheel-drive vehicle (4x4), as the dirt road starting from Rodopos village is long and rough. For this reason, most visitors prefer to reach the beach by sea with a private or excursion boat from the port of Kissamos. Nearby to the south, one can also visit the historical chapel of Agies 5 Parthenes, which is carved into the rock, adding a spiritual dimension to the visit to this remote corner of Crete.
