Perivolakia Beach is one of the most isolated and enchanting coastal treasures of southern Crete, in the heart of Sfakia.
Geographically, it is located between Chora Sfakion and Loutro, situated immediately west of the famous Glyka Nera beach and east of the cape leading towards Loutro.
The landscape is characterized by the wild, primitive beauty of the Sfakian terrain, with the shore surrounded by towering, vertical cliffs. The beach features crystal-clear, deep blue waters that remain cool due to the underwater freshwater springs surfacing in the wider area. The atmosphere is perfectly serene, offering a sanctuary of privacy for those seeking tranquility away from the busier spots on the coastline.
Access to the beach is demanding and is possible exclusively via the coastal path (E4) connecting Chora Sfakion with Loutro, or by sea via boat. Regarding organization, Perivolakia is a completely unorganized beach, with absolutely no infrastructure or shade. It administratively belongs to the Chania Prefecture (Municipality of Sfakia) and is the ideal choice for hikers and nature lovers who wish to enjoy their swim in a setting of raw natural beauty.
