Psilos Volakas Beach is one of the most picturesque and quiet destinations in southern Crete, known for its unique rocky formations.
Geographically, it is located on the shores of the Libyan Sea, west of Paleochora, between Kalamia and Trochalou beaches.
The landscape is characterized by a small, protected bay with pristine, crystal-clear waters and a shore consisting of pebbles and sand. The main feature of the beach is the large rocks that jut into the sea, creating a unique setting that offers natural protection from the winds. The atmosphere at Psilos Volakas remains exceptionally serene, making it ideal for those seeking tranquility and contact with the natural landscape away from the crowded spots.
Access is very easy by road, as the beach is located right next to the main provincial road connecting Paleochora with the Kountoura area. Regarding organization, Psilos Volakas is an unorganized beach, preserving its virgin character intact, although the close distance to Paleochora ensures easy access to all necessary infrastructures. It administratively belongs to the Chania Prefecture and is an excellent choice for lovers of rocky shores and water clarity.
