Rodakino Beach is one of the most extensive and serene coastal destinations in southern Crete, situated below the eponymous mountainous village in the Rethymno region.
Geographically, it is located west of Plakias and east of Frangokastello, essentially consisting of a series of consecutive shores separated by low hills and rocks, most notably Agia Marina, Polyrizos, and Peristeres beaches.
The landscape is characterized by the raw natural beauty of the Libyan Sea, featuring vast stretches that combine fine sand and pebbles. The waters are crystal clear, pristine, and usually very calm, as the area's bays offer some protection from strong northern winds. The region maintains a strongly traditional and authentic character, with the natural environment remaining largely unaltered, offering a sense of freedom and tranquility.
Access to the beach is easy via the road network that descends from Rodakino village towards the coast. Regarding organization, the area is partially organized, featuring some infrastructure that ensures a comfortable stay without compromising its quiet character. It is an ideal destination for families and travelers seeking peace, clean seas, and contact with raw Cretan nature, far from major tourist resorts.
