Skinaria Beach is one of the most impressive and unique coastal destinations in southern Crete, located near the settlement of Lefkogia in the Rethymno region.

Geographically, it is situated in a small, sheltered bay east of Plakias, surrounded by a rugged and imposing rocky landscape. It is a place that captivates with its wild beauty and the sense of tranquility it offers, far from the extensive tourist development of the wider area.

The main feature that makes the beach unique is the exceptional clarity of its waters, considered among the finest in the entire Mediterranean. The waters are deep, crystal clear, and possess an intense turquoise color, while its seabed is rich in marine life and impressive geological formations, making it a favorite destination for scuba diving and snorkeling. The shore consists of coarse sand and fine pebbles, with smooth rocks protruding into the sea in several spots.

Access to the beach is easy via a narrow paved road starting from the village of Lefkogia, passing through a beautiful route between hills. Despite its secluded character, the beach is partially organized, offering basic amenities to visitors, such as umbrellas and sunbeds on a section of it. Skinaria remains a destination for those seeking the crystalline purity of the sea and one of the most vibrant and interesting seabeds on the island, always maintaining the authenticity of the Cretan south.
