Vlites Beach is the coastal front of the Souda area and is a popular choice for local residents due to its easy accessibility.

Geographically, it is located on the northern side of Souda Bay, very close to the main port and approximately 5 kilometers east of Chania city.

The landscape is characterized by an extensive sandy shore with shallow and usually calm waters, as its position deep within the bay protects it from most winds. The beach is flanked by green spaces, and the Souda Bay Commonwealth Cemetery is located very close by, a site of great historical significance and unique architecture. Additionally, the Merchant Marine Academy of Crete is situated in the area.

Access is very simple via Akrotiriou and Simmachon streets, and the area offers ample parking spaces near the sand.

In terms of organization, the beach features infrastructure to meet the needs of swimmers, including umbrellas and sunbeds in certain sections. It is an ideal choice for those seeking a quick swimming escape near the city or for families who prefer the safety of shallow waters and the tranquility of the bay.
