Koutalas Cave is an impressive natural landmark located on the northeastern coast of the Apokoronas peninsula.

Geographically, it is situated on the northern part of Cape Drapano, a short distance from Koutalas beach and northeast of the village of Kokkino Chorio.

The landscape surrounding the cave is wild and rocky, typical of the coastline facing the Cretan Sea. Access to the area is via the road network passing through Kokkino Chorio, while the cave's location itself offers panoramic sea views. The well-known underwater Elephant Cave is also located nearby, making the broader area a significant point of interest for nature lovers and explorers.

Due to its rugged location and the lack of tourist infrastructure, the cave preserves its pristine character. It is an ideal destination for those seeking contact with Crete's authentic natural environment and the exploration of geological formations away from crowded areas.
