Koudoumi Gorge is located in eastern Crete, within the Lasithi regional unit, in the wider area of Sitia, approximately 25–30 kilometers west of the town.

It is also known as Tourloti Gorge, as its exit lies near the village of Tourloti.

The gorge is formed between the villages of Sfaka and Tourloti and follows the course of a natural stream that originates from the Monokaras plateau, crossing a wild and relatively remote part of the Sitia mountains.

Its landscape is characterized by rocky slopes, impressive geological formations, and variations in vegetation, including shrubs and trees adapted to the dry environment. The natural beauty and tranquility of the area make it a distinctive destination for those seeking authentic and less touristy routes.

Crossing the gorge is not fully organized and requires proper preparation and caution, as the terrain can be uneven and signage is limited. For this reason, it is mainly suitable for experienced hikers with good physical condition.

Koudoumi Gorge remains one of the lesser-known gorges of eastern Crete, preserving its wild and authentic character while offering a unique experience in close contact with nature.
