Vryonisi Island is a small uninhabited islet in the Aegean Sea, located close to the northern coast of eastern Crete in the Lassithi region.
The island is also known as Prasonisi - meaning “leek island” - and is recognized for its natural presence in the bay without any permanent settlement.
Despite its modest size, Vryonisi stands out for its natural landscape, covered with salt‑tolerant vegetation and offering a unique silhouette against the sea. There are no facilities on the islet, and access is typically by boat from the nearby coast. In our gallery, you’ll find images showing the islet and its surroundings, capturing the distinctive character and natural setting of this small but scenic piece of Crete.
