Kolatsos beach (also known as Glaros) constitutes the eastern part of the extensive coastline that begins at Kiani Akti and ends at Kalyves.

Geographically, it is located east of Chania, right after the mouth of the Koiliaris River, which separates this specific shore from Kiani Akti.

The landscape is characterized by a wide sandy beach with clear waters, offering unobstructed views toward the entrance of Souda Bay. Due to the river mouth in very close proximity, the natural environment is particularly rich, while the sea temperature can be affected by the cooler fresh waters flowing into the area.

Access is extremely simple, as the beach is located very close to the Old National Road and the Northern Road Axis of Crete. Parking spaces and easy paths leading directly to the sand are available.

In terms of organization, Kolatsos beach features basic infrastructure for swimmers, such as umbrellas and sunbeds. It is a popular choice for those seeking an organized and easily accessible shore that combines the sandy beach with the unique natural scenery created by the river's flow into the sea.
