Marathi Beach is one of the most popular and beloved coastal destinations on the Akrotiri peninsula.

Geographically, it is located on the southeastern side of Akrotiri, offering panoramic views of Souda Bay and the White Mountains.

The landscape features two adjacent coves with fine sand and crystal-clear, shallow waters that rarely experience waves. Its geographical position makes it one of the most sheltered beaches in Chania, protected from most winds, which makes it ideal for families with young children. A short distance from the shore lies the islet of Palaiosouda, adding a unique touch to the marine scenery.

Access is very easy via the Akrotiri road network, leading directly to the beach where ample parking is available. The historic Church of Agios Spyridon dominates the area, situated a short distance from the water.

In terms of organization, Marathi is fully equipped with umbrellas, sunbeds, and lifeguard services. The area is famous for its excellent dining options, with numerous tavernas serving fresh fish right by the sand, as well as high-quality accommodation offering sea views.
