Monompouka Beach is one of the most serene and welcoming destinations on the southern coast of the Heraklion region, located in the Municipality of Viannos, just east of the seaside village of Keratokampos.
The beach owes its name to the fact that only one stream "mouth" (bouka) flows into the area. It is distinguished by its fine, pristine sand and shallow, crystal-clear waters, making it an ideal choice for families with children, as well as for those seeking a comfortable and peaceful swimming experience in the Libyan Sea.
Regarding travel information, Monompouka has a semi-organized character; while some spots offer umbrellas and sunbeds provided by nearby accommodations, the vast majority of the beach remains free for visitors who prefer using their own equipment. Access is remarkably easy via the coastal road leading from Keratokampos, and several tamarisk trees along the shore provide natural shade. The area is renowned for its water purity and sandy seabed, while its close proximity to Keratokampos allows travelers easy access to traditional tavernas, cafes, and rental rooms, perfectly blending total relaxation with necessary amenities.
