Vori is a historic and traditional settlement in the Heraklion prefecture, located in the fertile Messara plain, close to Tympaki and the archaeological site of Phaistos.

The village has been designated as a protected settlement due to its exceptional architectural heritage, with stone houses and picturesque alleys preserving the unaltered character of the Cretan countryside.

The most significant cultural landmark of the settlement is the Museum of Cretan Ethnology, housed in an impressive building in the village center. The museum is one of the most important of its kind in Greece, featuring rich collections that highlight the daily life, arts, and traditions of the Cretan people throughout the centuries. In the wider area of the settlement, there are also religious monuments, such as the church of Agia Faneromeni, which add to the historical value of the visit.

Vori's geographical position is ideal for touring, as it is connected by the Vori-Ano Zaros provincial road, offering easy access to both the Psiloritis mountain massif and the southern coasts. Visitors can wander through the settlement, experience the local agricultural production—such as fine olive oil and vegetable products—and enjoy the tranquility of a place that harmoniously combines history with the natural beauty of Messara.
