Diapori is a small, uninhabited islet located to the east of Crete, within the island’s open eastern seascape. It is part of the broader network of small islets and rocky outcrops that define the eastern edge of Crete.
The islet is characterized by a rocky terrain and steep coastlines, with little to no vegetation due to the dry conditions and strong winds that prevail in the area. Its form has been shaped over time by the continuous action of the sea and weather, resulting in a stark and authentic natural landscape.
Diapori is not inhabited and has no infrastructure, maintaining an undisturbed and natural character. Despite its small size, it forms part of the wider marine ecosystem of eastern Crete and may serve as a refuge for seabirds and other marine life.
Access is possible only by sea and under suitable weather conditions. It is not an organized tourist destination, but it remains a characteristic element of the raw and minimal beauty found along Crete’s eastern coastline.
