Nisimos plateau is located southwest of Heraklion and at almost 900 m height at the foothills of Selena mountain.

The plateau with its fertile soil is used for many years by the residents of Tzermiado village for grain production.

At Nisimos, which has a great view of the Lasithi plateau, you can follow a path that leads to the past Minoan village Karfi, which was a town of great importance due to its strategic location.

Also west of the plateau, you can see the beautiful church of Agia Ariadni built by Manolis Spanakis in honor of his mother.
